  1. 1 pork bun (12 ounces)
  2. 1 Persian cucumber / Kirby
  3. 3 bunches of coriander

  5. Baguette
  6. mayonnaise
  7. Sriracha Chili Sauce
  8. vegetable oil
  9. olive oil
  10. salt and pepper
  11. 1 tablespoon of sugar
  12. 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  13. 4 tablespoons of water

Easy Vietnamese Cooking Guide Banh Mi - Vietnamese Sandwich

  1. Cut the sausage into strips about 2 cm thick. You really can cut them however you like, just make sure the pieces fit the pole you're using.
  2. We take a baguette and divide it lengthwise. Fry until slightly crispy on the outside.
  3. I like to peel the Kirby cucumbers because they are very thick. Thinly slice the cucumber, about 1/8 inch long.
  4. In a clean bowl, combine 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 4 tablespoons water.
  5. Put some oil in the pan. You don't need a lot of oil, just enough so the sausage doesn't stick. Fry the sausages over medium heat. If there is no space in the pan, divide the sausage and sauce in two. Turn the sausage over when one side is lightly browned.
  6. Then pour some sauce over it and continue to fry until the sauce is completely absorbed. Remove the sausage when the sides are well browned.
  7. Mix together the mayonnaise and sriracha. Adjust the sriracha according to your heat tolerance.
  8. For the sandwich, layer the baguette, sausage, cucumber, daikon cucumber, carrot, and cilantro. Finally, place the top of the baguette on top and secure the sandwich with wooden sticks or skewers. Make sure all layers of filling are evenly distributed throughout the baguette. You want to be able to taste all the ingredients in every bite.
  9. Instead of mayonnaise and sriracha, you can add olive oil, salt, and pepper. You can also wrap the sandwich in foil to take to lunch or a party.
