  4. 1 hard-boiled egg (colored)
  5. 1 piece of rye bread with seeds
  6. 1 red or white box (see note below)
  7. 1 3" cut feta cheese (see note below)
  8. 3 tablespoons of white vinegar
  9. 3 cans of mushroom soup

Instructions for making Polish Easter Soup

  1. Place the sausages in a large soup bowl and add about a liter of water to cover. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cook for about an hour. Squeeze into the sausage bag every few minutes to drain the juices.
  2. Remove the sausage, let the sauce cool, add the vinegar and leave in the fridge.
  3. Boil the ham. Do not add cereal or other mild spices or juices and place in the fridge overnight.
  4. Optional: Boil the pork salt in water for about an hour and leave it in the fridge overnight.
  5. Cover the feta with milk and refrigerate overnight.
  6. The next day, fatty sauce. Add the mushroom soup. Stir until well blended. If you want to strain to remove mushrooms (I don't bother them anymore). Bring the soup to a boil, lower the temperature to minimum and cook for about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally. If it is tasted and salted or pickled, you can add a glass of whole milk.
  7. Cut about 2 cups sausage, ham, rye bread and egg into 1/2 inch cubes.
  8. Wash feta cheese, beat dry and cut into 1/2 inch cubes.
  9. Cut the pork salt into 1/4 inch cubes.
  10. Put the meat on one plate, the bread, cheese and eggs on another.
  11. In soup bowls, let guests combine meat, bread, cheese and eggs as they please. Add hot soup. Add 1-2 tablespoons horsepower as desired.
  12. Note: I like to create my own radical. I cook a small beetroot until tender, peel it, chop it in a bowl, then put it in a blender and blend until it's fairly smooth. I mix it with a jar of fresh beets. This gives the soup a nice pink color and the beets cut the intensity of the ray.
  13. Note: Polish farmhouse cheese is a traditional cheese for this soup, but it is hard to find. Feta cheese soaked in milk to remove some salt makes a decent substitute.
